The author describes the techniques she uses to get in touch with the minds of dogs, cats, birds, horses, rabbits, and even a wolf. She discovers their complaints and preferences, their affection and fears. Directly quoted conversations reveal pets' intelligence, devotion, and sense of humor. The author also works to heal sick animals and contact and guide lost creatures.
