The eight characters in Two in One search for their identities while confronting the despair of loneliness, greed, racism, death, and an absolutely immoral being. At times, knowingly or otherwise, they involve those close to them as they try to resolve their often-selfish needs.

Ellen Banner turns to her son, Jamie, for fulfillment of her sexual needs.

Mr. Harris lives a mournful existence in memorial to his deceased loved ones. He is guardian to his adolescent grandson, Rudy.

Rudy is conflicted regarding his racial identity while living with the barriers of prejudice in a small town in the early 1980s.

Jamie Banner, a reclusive young man, fears both the living and the dead especially Barnard, the phantom pariah who has wandered for two thousand years looking for youths like Jamie.

In his quest for possession of Jamie, Barnard must move cautiously among all the characters for fear of losing his prey and, thus, his own existence.
