Pembrook dogs are on the case!
A ripped down sign, a broken fire hydrant, and now Tundra, the alpha dog of Pembrook, is missing! There's trouble brewing in this quiet Minnesota town, and none of the humans seem to notice. But the dogs do! They can smell it in the air.
So the dogs of Pembrook Kito, Chester, and the rest of the gang form Dog Watch, a canine version of Neighborhood Watch. Together, they set out to uncover the person (or animal) behind the vandalism in town and to find Tundra. Hopefully they're not too late!
When Tundra the alpha female dog turns up missing in the town of Pembrook, Kito, Chester, and the other dogs from the neighborhood form an investigative group called Dog Watch. During their search for Tundra they discover several mishaps, including a flooded parade that leads to another investigation. Upon solving that crime the canine gang finds Tundra trapped in a train car that had closed shut after she was inside eating dog treats. Written from the dogs' perspective, this text offers a change of pace from the normal mysteries. Simple text and shorter chapters make this an excellent choice for below average readers when covering a mystery unit. This book is the first in the "Dog Watch" series. 2006, Aladdin Paperbacks, Ages 8 to 12.
