This collection honors the groundbreaking and innovative cover art of the epic Sandman magazine series that spun out its narrative over a historic eight-year run. The artwork is beautifully presented here in its pure form, without any adornment or distraction, encompassing the full body of covers created by McKean for more than seventy issues and ten full-length graphic novels.

The artwork is accompanied by intensive commentary from McKean and Sandman author Neil Gaiman that provides fascinating insights and background into how the covers were planned and created, and how each cover relates to the story it accompanies. This volume also includes an all-new eight-page story by Gaiman and McKean.
