Book Synopsis

The runes are not only a writing system used by some of the ancient Germanic peoples—they are also known as the Mysteries. Carved on wood, metal, or stone and steeped in a rich folkloric tradition, the runes are a powerful divinatory tool.

The Runes Workbook provides a fascinating insight into these Mysteries—including the history of the runes, the significance of the runic poems and runic literature, the meanings of the individual staves (stones), and methods for runic divination.

The Runes Workbook also explores the connections between the runes, mythology, archaeology, and magic and provides an insight into runic psychology.

Special features of The Runes Workbook include:

  • Description, interpretation, exercises, and activities for each of the rune staves
  • Interactive workbook exercises for every chapter
  • Three and nine rune readings
  • Extracts from the ancient runic poems and runic literature
  • Meditations and visualizations on aspects of the runic world
  • Practical advice for carving and reading the runes
The Runes Workbook is useful not only for beginners, but for those already familiar with the runes who wish to further explore and enrich their personal understanding of this mysterious tradition.
