Author Biography: Mark Nosack

I was a cop for thirty years. During that time, I shot people, I faught people, I chased them to the ends of the Earth, and occasionally I gave someone a hug who needed it. I retired from the force and became a Private Detective. Now I only get to shoot someone every few weeks.

I'm having the time of my life. I love every day like it's my last (which I hope it ain't). I love Stevie Ray Vaughan, golf, and hot chili. My hero is my wife, Sandy.

Book Synopsis

JAKE BARKLEY Is a police detective for the Sandy Police Department which is located in Salt Lake County, Utah. Jake is probably the saddest man on the face of the planet. In The Murder Gene, Jake catches a murder case that includes family craziness, sadness, and psychotic twins. Jake thinks that his primary bandit, twenty-six-year-old ENRIQUE PARRA, is the probable murderer. Then he learns that Enrique's twin sister, TERESA, is actually his twin brother who was brutally damaged at the time of circumcision. The DNA just flew out the window. The Murder Gene is a tale about a detective who is in the midst of personal tragedy. It is a tale about a detective who is forced to reflect on everything that was good in his world and everything that crushed his heart. It is a tale about resiliency and hope.
