Book Synopsis

Why did the Vikings wear horns? What exactly do fish hear? Why is the ocean blue? These questions and many, many more are answered in this fun and informative gift book, a Schott’s Miscellany for the maritime crowd.

Do you know how to inseminate a sea urchin; how much foam is on the sea right now; how far away the horizon actually is?

If not, after reading this book of ocean trivia—some of it useful, some of it trivial, some of it funny, most of it strange—you certainly will. A random collection of nautical facts and miscellany, The Little Book of the Sea will turn you into the most loved—or hated!—person on the boat.
