Elizabeth Singer Hunt is originally from New Orleans and now lives in San Francisco. She moved to the UK in 1999 to pursue an MA in Southeast Asian Studies and then worked in brand marketing. Inspired by her love of travel and the birth of her son, she created the Jack Stalwart series.

Book Synopsis

In The Escape of the Deadly Dinosaur, Jack zooms to the city that never sleeps to try to solve the mystery of the missing Allosaurus toe. Starting at the Natural History Museum, Jack's detection takes him to a competitive grade-schooler determined to win the science fair with his experiment crossing his own dog with the DNA from the bone of a dangerous, carnivorous dinosaur. Soon the gargantuan creature is terrorizing New Yorkers and Jack must stop him before he topples the Empire State Building and devours the animals in the Central Park Zoo! Canny and resourceful, Jack will delight readers and impress their parents.

Children's Literature

Jack Stalwart's brother is missing. He disappeared while working as a secret agent for the Global Protection Force four months ago. Jack now works for the GPF and searches for his brother while solving international crimes. In this adventure Jack must stop the deadly allosaurus from terrorizing the citizens of New York City. This clever new series has everything a young reader could ask for in a book. A super-hero main character, plenty of action, lots of technology, and a flying skateboard and dinosaur. All these elements will keep the most reluctant readers on the edge of their seats. Black and white illustrations add interest to the text and short chapters are key for enticing reluctant readers. This series is sure to be a hit for upper elementary and middle school readers. Reviewer: Sue Reichard
