The author's dedication to the sport of tennis and to teaching tennis is readily apparent. It is apparent in his book as well as in his classes. In short order his students realize that here is the shortcut to better tennis playing for which they have been yearning. Wishing to become better tennis players, the author's students seriously focus their attention and efforts. With each little improvement in their strokes he could hear his students remark to one another:

 "It's like power steering."

 "It's not as complicated as I thought."

 "My shoulder doesn't hurt when I do it that way."

 "He fixed my forehand."
