In his own research, Szostak (economics, U. of Alberta) had trouble finding relevant material across disciplines, and later discovered that students were having similar problems integrating material from their different courses. He therefore set out to devise a schemaanalogous to a roadmapby which researchers and students could simplify cross-disciplinary searches. Here he uses the study of culture to test and explain his system, and uses the schema to provide a structure that can enhance the understanding of culture.
