ROBERT LUDLUM was the author of twenty-one novels, each one a New York Times bestseller. There are more than 210 million of his books in print, and they have been translated into thirty-two languages. He is the author of The Scarlatti Inheritance, The Chancellor Manuscript, and the Jason Bourne series—The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum—among others. Mr. Ludlum passed away in March, 2001.

ERIC VAN LUSTBADER is most widely known as the New York Times bestselling author of twenty international bestselling thrillers including Ninja and Black Heart. The Bourne Deception picks up where The Bourne Sanction left off. Jason Bourne's nemesis Arkadin is still hot on his trail and the two continue their struggle, reversing roles of hunter and hunted. Lustbader resurrects Ludlum's hero in this thriller that fails to recapture the intensity of the original but still packs plenty of punches. This time around, Jason Bourne must track down his would-be assassin, but finds himself in the middle of an investigation that could trigger a new world war. Jeremy Davidson brings the novel necessary realism with a range of believable characters. His ability to capture the subtleties of numerous accents and dialects without falling into caricature is commendable. A splendid reading of an otherwise routine action thriller.
