This reference for students and film lovers contains 569 alphabetically arranged entries on real people from Attila the Hun to Emile Zola who have been portrayed in at least two feature films between 1929 and 2001. Each entry provides a brief biography of a historical person and lists films in which he or she has been portrayed, along with such information as cast credits, alternate titles, and running time. The appendices list the film portrayals of an additional 71 persons, arranged into group s (e.g., American presidents or English monarchs). The late Michael G.
