"Quad Delta" is the first in the Enos Hobson Leavenworth Mysteries. Retired US Army Intelligence officer Enos Hobson is hired to determine what a mysterious corporation named Quad Delta is and how it scammed a General's widow out of her family's $2.5 million fortune. The job seems too challenging when she plunges into an Alzheimer's-like dementia and can no longer talk in a lucid manner. A Satanic group appears to be behind the scam. They hold their devil worship sacrifices in abandoned tunnels under the main shopping street in Leavenworth, Kansas. Enos eventually finds himself captured and in line to become a human sacrifice, unless his friends and dog Sheba can find him in time. Nothing is as it seems right up to the end. This is a mystery of place which is familiar to military officers all over the world.
