Elaine Litchfield Wilmore, Ph.D., is Special Assistant to the Dean for NCATE Accreditation and an Associate Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington. This year she is President of three different organizations, and it is about to kill her. Those organizations are the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration, the Cleburne (TX) Independent School District Board of Trustees, and Elaine L. Wilmore Leadership Initiatives. She is the University of Texas at Arlington founding Director of School Administration Programs, Educational Leadership UTA, and the Scholars of Practice innovative programs for which she has received extensive external grants. At the University she has served as Chair of Educational Administration and Director of University Program Development. In addition, Dr. Wilmore is active on many other local, state, and national boards including the Texas Principals Leadership Initiative and the National Council of Professors of Educational Administration. She has served as President of the Texas Professors of Educational Administration, on the Boards of the Texas Association of School Administrators and the Texas Consortium of Colleges of Teacher Education and was in the original cadre of program/folio reviewers for the Educational Leadership Constituent Council for NCATE. Dr. Wilmore is known in Texas as the "ExCET - TExES Queen" for her state-wide success in helping students pass administrative certification examinations.
Dr. Wilmore is a former public school teacher, counselor, and elementary and middle school principal. A frequent national speaker and author, Dr. Wilmore is known for inspiringothers to greatness. In addition to her significant work in the area of administrator development, she enjoys singing in her church choir, reading, writing, and spending time with those she loves. She is married and the mother of three wonderful children, one fabulous son-in-law, a big Boxer dog, and a very persistent mutt-cat named "Yum."
