J.H. Hall's family has lived on the Chesapeake Bay and fished its waters since the end of the Civil War, and continues to do so. Hall's fiction and nonfiction have appeared in many literary and outdoor magazines, three anthologies, and three collections of his own, including Selling Fish, which chronicles Hall's life as a fisherman, on the Chesapeake, and many other places.
