-Ideal for children aged 3 and up.
-A unique series of photographic pop-up books that really bring the subjects to life.
-Lively text and fascinating facts help children learn about the sea.
What sets this pop-up book apart from others is not the pop-ups themselves but the fact that, except for occasional background colors, all the illustrations are photographs. There are dolphins, sharks, conchs, crabs, clown fish, angel fish, porcupine fish, lionfish, and sea horses. There are also jellyfish, octopuses, turtles, penguins, whales, a walrus, a polar bear, and a seal. For each creature, there are a few sentences about its life and habitat. The photographs cover the oceans from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from the top of the water to the bottom, from the waves to the shore. Pop-ups include dolphins leaping out of the waves, a turtle flapping its flippers, and a clown fish lurking in an anemone's tentacles. There is even a photograph showing a conch's eyes. 2005, St. Martin's Press/Priddy Books, Ages 4 up.
