Author Biography: Kenneth Cutright

Kenneth Cutright is currently associate professor within the management systems department at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Professor Cutright holds a M.S. in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering both from West Virginia University.

He has taught courses within the Ohio University Athens MBA program as well as Marietta MBA, Portsmouth MBA and the executive MBA programs at Tenaga in Malaysia. While at Ohio University Professor Cutright has received many teaching awards, including Provost's Undergraduate Teaching Award, 1993, University Professor Award in the College of Engineering, 1991, and Fritz & Delores Russ Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award within the College of Engineering & Technology.

Professor Cutright currently holds memberships within Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honorary, Alpha Pi Mu Industrial Engineering Honorary, INFORMS, POMS, DSI, and Phi Kappa Pi Educational Honorary.

Clarence "Red" Martin is currently associate professor of management systems at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Prior to joining the OU faculty, Professor Martin was Assistant Professor in Industrial & Systems Engineering at The Ohio State University. He holds M.S. degrees in Industrial & Systems Engineering from Ohio University and Operations Research from Carnegie-Mellon University. His Ph.D. in Industrial Administration is from the Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie-Mellon University.

He is currently the author of 7 journal articles. He has spend the majority of his academic career consulting and creating computer programs. He has consulting experience with the following organizations: Goodyear, US Steel, Owens-Corning,Whirlpool Corporation, Sumitono Industries-Japan, Libbey-Owens-Ford, Pilkington Glass Ltd.-England, LTV Steel, Pain Webber, & Trumbull Asphalt.

He currently holds memberships in The Institute of Management Sciences, Institute of Industrial Engineers, Operations Research Society of America and Mathematical Programming Society.

Book Synopsis

This Microsoft Excel based online simulation teaches operations management processes. The program offers the flexibility to choose from simple to complex production environments. This makes it feasible to use the simulation in a problem-based learning approach or as a project/case study.
