Wildlife lovers will especially enjoy the Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge, a renowned birdwatching area on the New Hampshire/Maine border where you'll see bald eagles, loons, peregrine falcons, ospreys and more.

Author Bio:The Waitsfield, Vermont-based nonprofit Northern Forest Canoe Trail organization began developing the Trail in 2000 to be a recreational resource for paddlers, as well as a means to celebrate the history and culture of the Northern Forest region and provide an economic development driver for communities there.
