The Houston Astros may not have a World Series title, but they do have an important place in baseball history. After playing a few seasons the Colt .45s changed their name to the Astros, in honor of the astronauts that trained in Houston. The team started playing in the first domed stadium, the Astrodome, although presently they play in Minute Maid Park, which has a retractable dome. This is a team most known for its pitchers, including greats like Nolan Ryan and Roy Oswalt. While presenting facts and statistics, this volume has a little fun with trivia and the players. Readers are invited to pore over a picture of Hunter Pence and find everything that starts with the letter H. Jose Cruz is introduced to the readers through a clever limerick and no Astros book would be complete without a spread about team mascot Junction Jack. While this volume is of greatest interest to Astros fans, libraries needing more easy reader baseball books will want to consider it. Reviewer: Tiffany Erickson
