E. PAUL TORRANCE is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of the University of Georgia, where he served as head of the Department of Educational Psychology, Measurement, and Research. He is best known as the developer of the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking.
There has never been a longitudinal study of creativity of this magnitude--a 40-year study of creative achievement in adulthood of individuals who had been given creativity tests in childhood.
Torrance (educational psychology, measurement, and research, U. of Georgia) reports on a 40-year study of creativity that began with all students in two Minneapolis elementary schools taking the Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking once a year from 1958 through 1964. Follow- up data were collected in 1979-80, and again in 1998 to assess the correlation between test results and life course. Respondents describe only their activities since 1980. Annotation c.
