Author Biography: Jodi Lynn Anderson

Jodi Lynn Anderson, the national bestselling author of Peaches and The Secrets of Peaches, has lived in Georgia, Costa Rica, and New York, but she currently hangs her hat in Washington, D.C.

Book Synopsis

After a not-quite-peachy year apart, three Georgia peaches come home to Darlington Orchard

When Murphy chose New York City, she left her first love behind. Now, a summer in Bridgewater means trading subway trains for pickup trucks and facing the boy she turned her back on.

Leeda expects her trip home to be over faster than her new Manhattan boyfriend can hail a cab—until a surprising inheritance saddles her with a huge responsibility.

Birdie's heart led her all the way to Mexico, and heartbreak brings her back to the orchard. But when the Darlington family decides to leave peach trees for palm trees, Birdie gets a crash course in letting go—and learning when to hold on.

Together for another juicy summer, carefree Murphy, perfect Leeda, and big-hearted Birdie return to the place that allowed them to bloom. Brimming with all the charm, humor, and heart of Peaches and The Secrets of Peaches, this satisfying conclusion to the series reunites three unlikely best friends for a final sweet farewell.

Children's Literature

In this sequel to Peaches and The Secrets of Peaches, the storylines of best friends Leeda, Murphy and Birdie are brought to a conclusion. The summer after their first year away at college, the girls return to Bridgewater, Georgia, each for their own reasons. Leeda arrives to hear her grandmother's will, planning to return to her new life in New York City as soon as possible—but her grandmother had other plans for her. Murphy finds herself fighting her mother to learn who her father really is. And Birdie comes home to gain perspective on her relationship, only to find home is not quite as permanent as she thought. In this tale of growing up and discovering who you are really meant to be, the three friends go through the most confusing summer of their lives and come out on the other side very different from how they started. Older teens will probably get the most out of this book, as it deals with a number of themes that will not make as much sense to the younger end of the YA spectrum who have not yet begun to approach the era of truly leaving home.
