Moses Pava is a professor of Business Ethics at Yeshiva University and author of eight books including Jewish Business Ethics. He currently lives in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The overarching goal of Pava (business ethics, Yeshiva U.), in his application of Jewish texts to business ethics, is to demonstrate how traditional resources can be used to help solve contemporary problems. He explores lessons of leadership as exemplified by biblical figures such as Abraham and Moses; rabbinic figures like Rabbi Akiva and Shimon ben Shetach; medieval philosopher Maimonides; and contemporary figures such as Abraham Joshua Heschel, Joseph Soloveitchik, and Will Herberg. He argues for a "covenantal leadership" that sees the leader as teacher within the organization. Annotation ©2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
