The text, updated with new research sources, models, and case studies to keep current with the popular field, provides a description and application of many approaches to leadership, with an emphasis on how theory can inform practice. Chapters describe each theory, then explain how it can be used in real situations. New to the latest edition is a chapter titled "Skills Approach" that focuses on the basic competencies leaders need to perform well: problem-solving skills, social judgment skills, and knowledge.
