Book Synopsis

The movie event of the Fall is the comic book event of this Summer!  JUNO's award-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody brings you JENNIFER'S BODY starring Megan Fox as a demonically-possessed cheerleader with a taste for killing teenage boys!  In this original graphic novel that ties into the movie and expands on its universe, BLACK METAL's Rick Spears brings you even more hellish Jennifer stories with art by HACK/SLASH's Tim Seely, THE CLERKS Jim Mahfood, DMZ's Nikki Cook and POPGUN's Ming Doyle.

School Library Journal

Gr 9 Up–In the small town of Devil’s Kettle, an impossibly attractive girl who is possessed by a demon goes out with several boys who are all distracted by her beauty. After each one gets his hopes up about his chances with her, Jennifer transforms into her demon shape and kills him. The last story puts a different twist on things, but that’s the book in a nutshell. Most of the characters are fairly one-dimensional, but there are several instances in which the boys begin to show signs of emotional development and/or brain-cell activity. But if they’re just going to have their faces ripped off anyway, then there’s not much point in character development, is there? The main reason to buy this movie tie-in is to see how a variety of artists (Tim Seely, Jim Mahfood, Ming Doyle, and Nikki Cook) interpret Megan Fox’s beauty, and indeed it is a wonder to behold. But it’s the cover art by Frank Cho that will stop readers in their tracks. That image of Jennifer looking over her shoulder at us, her white glove drenched in blood, is so captivating that this book would probably become a best seller even if the rest of the pages were blank. This volume will probably be most appreciated by fans of the film who want to read more stories set in that universe, and die-hard fans of Megan Fox.–Andrea Lipinski, New York Public Library
