This book reviews the state of the art in information technolgy in educational management (ITEM) with emphasis on research, approaches, methodologies, applications and tools. This IFIP (International Federation of Information Processing) Proceedings not only discusses the pedagogical and educational issues in ITEM but also covers the range of applications from class scheduling to financial support.
From a July 1994 international conference in Jerusalem, 36 papers discuss the research, approaches, methodologies, applications, and tools of information technology in the management of schools, mostly primary and secondary, but occasionally institutions of higher learning. The topics include actual systems around the world, staff and teachers' training and support, decision support systems, telecommunication and voice response systems, human resource management, and geographic planning of education systems.
