Author Biography: Nancy Temple Rodrigue

NANCY TEMPLE RODRIGUE - Writing about Disneyland comes easy for Nancy as she has been an avid Disney fan ever since she was 6 years old and went to Disneyland for the first time. Her novels show both authors’ admiration and respect for the man who started it all – Walt Disney. HIDDEN MICKEY: Sometimes Dead Men DO Tell Tales! is Nancy's first published novel, and it certainly is not her last since the sequel HIDDEN MICKEY 2: It All Started... is her second collaborative work with co-author David W. Smith and scheduled for release September 15th, 2010, and she is already working on the third HIDDEN MICKEY novel in the series. Nancy lived in Modesto, California, for 27 years. She was in the first graduating class of Fred C. Beyer High School. After finishing school, she worked in a local pharmacy for 18 years – first as a clerk and later as a Pharmaceutical Technician. Then in 1993, she moved with her husband Russ to the small town of Lompoc, California, where she owns two online businesses. Nancy and her co-author Dave have been good friends since 1981 when they first met at Disneyland where he was employed. They are both active at book signings and speaking events and love to hear from people who enjoy their novels. Due to the popularity of the first book, The Hidden Mickey Fan Club* was formed and is free to join online at HiddenMickeyBook.com.
DAVID W. SMITH - Having worked at Disneyland in the late 1970’s, Dave experienced first-hand the inner workings of the park and the many wonderful inspirations that were cultivated within the mind of Walt Disney. Dave always felt a special connection to Disneyland, growing up just a couple miles south of the park in Garden Grove and seeing it evolve and grow to what we now recognize as the destination resort it has become. Dave believes everyone who has ever had a dream can relate to Walt Disney’s own dreams of “doing the impossible.” While most of us never fulfill our dreams to the extent Walt did, we all can imagine just how he must have felt walking down Main Street, USA of Disneyland, taking in all that he had done. However, while most of us would have felt a sense of accomplishment, knowing Walt as we know him today, he, most likely, would have been thinking of something new or doing something better…instead of being satisfied his success.
HIDDEN MICKEY was Dave's first venture into writing novels.

Book Synopsis

While running a spirited Mouse Adventure road rally through Disneyland, best friends Adam & Lance stumble across a long-lost diary of Walt Disney’s. The diary hints of hidden treasure and leads them on a wild cross-country search filled with discoveries – about the famous man, his life, and about themselves.

Beth, Adam's former girlfriend, was fired from her beloved job at Disneyland thanks to Adam. Now he needs her help in untangling a web of clues that Walt left behind. Can she put their past aside and work with him again? Can the three friends decipher the eccentric clues that Disney himself may have ingeniously devised? Is someone else sniffing the same trail of clues and seeking the Disney cache for themselves?

As the clues lead them closer to their goal - and deeper in the legacy of Walt Disney himself - will they find some long-lost treasure? Or is this one final illusion by the World's Greatest Storyteller?

Anyone who loves all-things Disney will be swept up in the intrigue of the sometimes subtle, sometimes obscure, and always amazing facts surrounding one of the most recognized, beloved and ingenious men of all time. Walk in the shoes of our intrepid treasure hunters as they scavenge historical records and discover amazing connections, while they seek out what Walt may have left behind.

Each page indulges the reader's imagination and immerses them into the world of magic Walt Disney created everywhere he went.

HIDDEN MICKEY takes readers on a wild ride; consider it Mr. Toad's Wild Ride on steroids.

Sometimes Dead Men DO Tell Tales!

Tracy Hathaway

"I had so much fun reading Hidden Mickey. If you are a Disney fan, a Mystery fan, or both, this is a must read for you! The story is well written and I was riveted. When I had to put the book down, to cook dinner or clean up a bit, I couldn't wait to pick it back up! To think Walt could have left such a treasure of any kind is so fantastic! Even though the story is fiction, I found myself thinking, "Wow, that could actually be there!" I couldn't wait to see how the story ended! Well done!"
