Kathryn Kraemer Troutman is the founder and president of The Resume Place in Washington, D.C., and Baltimore, which for 30 years has specialized in writing and designing professional federal and private-sector resumes. In fact, she is recognized by federal HR directors as having created the format for the new "federal resume" that became an accepted standard after the SF 171 form was eliminated in 1995. Kathryn has trained thousands of federal employees in writing federal resumes and KSAs, primarily for the Department of Health and Human Services, as well as for more than 100 other agencies and federal offices. Her popular Web site, www.resume-place.com, receives more than 50,000 visitors per month, who study her sample federal resume formats and write for help.

Book Synopsis

Writing an outstanding resume is challenging enough, but for job seekers wanting to develop a federal resume, they've really got their work cut out for them. Within a few years, the government has completely changed the process for applying for federal jobs.

Today, almost all federal agencies require job seekers to use online resume builders to submit their resumes. Simply having strong qualifications and printing the resume on high-quality paper isn't good enough. Job seekers must know which resume builders will help them make the greatest impact; how to develop effective, yet easy-to-read resumes online; and how to write KSAs, ECQs, essays, and short answers that will impress employers.

The newest edition of this big seller is the only book that addresses these issues. Students, job seekers, and even current federal employees will find that this latest edition of the Federal Resume Guidebook will quickly catch them up to speed on the current changes in applying for a federal job and help them land one of the abundant, well-paying jobs with the federal government.
