Author Biography: A. W. Bates

A. W. (Tony) Bates is director of distance education and technology in the Department of Continuing Studies at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He is the author of Managing Technological Change from Jossey-Bass.

Gary Poole is director of the Centre for Teaching and Academic Growth at the University of British Columbia.
