Author Biography: Arthur W. Chickering

ARTHUR W. CHICKERING is professor of educational leadership and human development at George Mason University. He is author of numerous books and the recipient of numerous awards, including the E. F. Lindquist Award from the American Educational Research Association for his studies of college impacts on student development. LINDA REISSER is dean of Student Services at Rockland Community College. She had been a participant in the National Institute for Leadership Development "Leaders of the '80s" program and a Fellow of the National Center on Adult Learning.
