Author Biography: Steven Sloan

While laid off from his job as a pilot, Steven Sloan spent a few years as a cop in Texas. After returning to flying, he entertained his cockpit colleagues on the long overwater flights with tales from his police days. During most of his diverse life as a cop, an entrepreneur, and an airline pilot his writing was strictly business related with reports, memos, and business plans occupying most of his writing time. Turning to novels a few years ago, he is becoming a prolific author of police and aviation stories. He can often be found writing on the aft deck of his boat in Castle Peak Bay where he lives and continues to fly wide-body jets for a Hong Kong airline.

Book Synopsis

A policeman, haunted by memories of past failures and faced with opposition from loved ones, finds himself under pressure to protect the citizens of his community. In Duncan Switch, most deep night shifts are quiet, but tonight’s converging events threaten to smother his efforts and test his ability. Protecting a fellow officer, a hostage situation, and working the night shift short-handed tests the officers of Duncan Switch, Texas. One of them finds the biggest challenge of the night still ahead.
