The candidate for RN licensure will find a concise review of information needed to pass the NCLEX-RN exam in this book, as well as the opportunity to apply the information to simulated clinical situations. The purpose is essential for and meets the needs of candidates seeking an NCLEX-RN review. The editor's stated objectives are met. The book is written for candidates for registered nurse licensure exams. The NCLEX-RN candidate can review essential nursing knowledge and apply the knowledge to exam questions. The editor used her own expertise from previous editions as well as the expertise of others to update this edition. Several contributors reviewed content and test items. The editor discusses NCLEX-RN development, administration, scoring, preparing for, and taking the exam. There are content reviews and tests in nursing specialty areas including growth and development and leadership/management. There are also integrated practice tests. The book includes a CD-ROM with 652 practice questions. All questions are coded according to the NCLEX-RN test plan. A separate pharmacology review might be helpful for candidates. The editor has provided a complete review to help candidates prepare for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. She keeps abreast of changes that have occurred in NCLEX-RN test plan and administration methods and this new edition is essential.
