Reviewer:Amanda Jackson, MD(Ochsner Clinic Foundation)
Description:This color atlas of common pediatric dermatology groups similar illnesses into sections and provides photographic depictions of management and treatment recommendations.
Purpose:It is intended to provide office practitioners a quick reference guide to common cutaneous lesions and findings. This will be a very useful tool in the busy pediatric office setting.
Audience:Primary care specialists, residents, and medical students are the intended audience.
Features:The atlas covers a variety of common childhood dermatologic complaints, segmented into similar disease processes. Each illness has a representative photograph and discussion, which includes a differential management and prognosis. The authors succeed in providing a useful and quick reference.
Assessment:The focus on quick recognition of pediatric dermatologic conditions and pediatric illnesses makes this atlas an asset in the office. The ease of reference is fantastic. This will replace the dermatology reference I currently use.
