Book Synopsis

How can we best support the people in living successfully with Asperger’s Syndrome? This will involve going into how the condition arises, the best understanding of the condition that is currently available, summarizing the knowledge coming out of research, and considering how the condition actually affects individuals.

During his more than 35 years in the autism business, the author has met hundreds of individuals and their families, and has worked closely with many of them in coaching and teaching situations. He has, perforce, also worked closely with their families in the course of this exploration, and these experiences of individual stories are used to counter balance the generalities that necessarily arise when one examines research and theory, which is constantly trying to identify similarities in order to create a useful pattern. A miracle cure is not proposed, or even a solution that will work for everyone in this group, but the author suggests that a new and accessible, though perhaps slightly quirky approach can make a significant difference to some and that wider application is worth exploring.
