Author Biography: Doug Buehl

Doug Buehl was a teacher in the Madison Metropolitan School District in Madison, Wisconsin, USA, for 33 years and is currently a staff developer and adolescent literacy consultant.

Book Synopsis

This book features 45 literacy skill-building strategies for middle school through high school educators that emphasize effective learning in content contexts. The activities in this book will help teachers to instill in students the skills and desire to read increasingly complex material, and to provide explicit instruction in reading comprehension, which will develop students who are active, purposeful, and independent learners.
