Using the work of Christina Rosetti as a case study, Kooistra (English, Nipissing U., Canada) explores the publishing history of Victorian illustrated poetry and links it to 20th century developments. She describes how Rosetti, although not providing the finished illustrations for her writings, furnished sketches as guides for professional illustrators, thus demonstrating the centrality of image in her work. She also explores how the commercial considerations of the British publishing industry impacted both Rosetti's work and its reception. Annotation (c)2003 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
