Author Biography: William W. Johnstone

Book Synopsis

Our Founding Fathers would die a second time. Disorder and mayhem rule the day. Only one survivor has the guts to lead the once-great nation out of the ashes: legendary soldier and freedom fighter Ben Raines. Whatever it takes, he is going to rebuild America — his way.

From his secret outpost in the far west, Raines calls his Rebels to back him in one last desperate assault against the Russian invaders and the mercenary turncoat, Sam Hartline. But until reinforcements arrive, Raines is forced to wage a one-man guerilla war against the enemy. It could be the first step toward a free America — or the final showdown of the warrior Ben Raines.

William Wallace Johnstone (October 28, 1938 — February 8, 2004) was a prolific American author, mostly of western novels. Born and raised in southern Missouri, Johnstone was the youngest of four children. His father was a minister and his mother a school teacher. He quit school when he was fifteen and worked in a carnival and as a deputy sheriff. He later served in the Army and, upon returning to civilian life, worked in radio broadcasting for 16 years.

Johnstone started his writing career in 1970, but did not have any works published until 1979 (The Devils Kiss) and became a full-time writer in 1980. He wrote close to two hundred books in numerous genres, including suspense and horror.
