Therapists and theorists apply eleven counseling approaches to the needs of a hypothetical client, and Corey (human services, California State University at Fullerton, emeritus) demonstrates an integrated approach. Each chapter includes a discussion of one theory's basic assumptions, an initial assessment of the client, and an examination of the procedures to be used. Client and therapist dialogues illustrate the therapeutic process, with accompanying explanations. Annotation ©2004 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR
