Author Biography: Wataru Ohashi

OHASHI has been teaching Eastern concepts of health since he founded the world-famous Ohashi Institute in 1974. Over the years his private practice has included such notables as Martha Graham, Michael York, Ralph Lauren, Halston and Henry Kissinger.

Book Synopsis

Here is the first comprehensive guide to the unique methods that have made the Ohashi Institute famous around the world. Ohashi has moved beyond traditional shiatsu to develop an approach to acupressure that is holistic rather than symptomatic, energizing rather than exhausting, spiritual rather than purely physical. Above all, his techniques are designed to foster a mutual exchange of energy through bodywork that enriches both the give and the receiver. Open this book and discover for yourself the rejuvenating powers of Ohashiatsu.

In the Western world there is only one top name in bodywork and shiatsu—Wataru Ohashi, founder of the Ohashi Institute and the Ohashiatsu method. This is the first book to detail the Ohashiatsu method—a unique body-massage program that facilitates the exchange of energy between giver and receiver. Over 600 photos, 115 in color.
