Author Biography: Liane Holliday Willey

Willey, Liane Holliday, EdD

Book Synopsis

Willey, who has a doctorate degree in psycho-linguistics, is a writer and lecturer on the topic of Asperger syndrome. She has the syndrome herself, as does her youngest daughter. Here she provides a personal and personable, though somewhat rambling account of how she and her daughter survive as "aspies" in a world of NT's (neurotypicals). She offers an abundance of practical hints for functioning in various situations (e.g. keep party gatherings small, practice social behaviors before the party, find calming behaviors and use them discretely) and a large amount of wisdom gained from experience, as well as some resources.
