For more than 65 years, Joe Seliga has been hand-building canvas-covered wooden canoes in his Ely, Minnesota, workshop. Seliga's work is considered the best-of-the-best among canoe aficionados and wooden boat builders alike. Jerry Stelmok is master canoe-builder and the author of three previous books on the subject. The owner of The Island Falls Canoe Company, he lives in Atkinson, Maine.
