Description:Drs. Andreoli and Carpenter have given us a new edition of one of the classic medical books. Since the first edition of Cecil was published in 1986, it has been a pillar of every medical library. Dr. Andreoli's dedication of this edition to Dr. Carpenter, for whom this is the last, will elicit fond memories in those familiar with his contributions to medicine and the world. All of medicine owes a significant debt of gratitude to Dr. Carpenter.
Purpose:This is a comprehensive yet concise authority in current medical knowledge. The editors have brought together the best of the world renowned experts in their areas to organize an overview of the accepted facts of physiology, diagnosis, and treatment. Each of the classic texts of medicine has been written with a particular philosophy and this one is known for its practical, quick, comprehensive nature. This edition continues to meet that extraordinary goal.
Audience:This book is for all levels of medical personnel, from students attempting to get their arms around the extensive knowledge-bank to seasoned practitioners who wish to update their understanding or review a topic during office hours.
