Purpose:The purpose is to provide a thorough overview of the administrative topics that athletic trainers encounter the most. The book meets these objectives with sound principles and information, as well as numerous case examples, charts, graphs, tables, and activities. A book like this is much needed in the profession and this one will be a welcome addition to any athletic trainer's library.
Audience:Although targeted primarily for entry-level athletic training students, both novice and experienced certified athletic trainers will find it a useful resource. The authors are tenured and experienced athletic training professionals who have worked in multiple job settings and are considered among the top professionals in the field.
Features:The book covers a multitude of administrative topics, from the usual such as budgeting, documentation, and risk management, to other timely and pertinent ones such as ethical practices, leadership and organization, and administrative issues in various clinical and educational settings. It uses a blend of narrative text and creative case studies, charts, and diagrams to present the material. A comprehensive set of appendixes offers samples of forms presented in the text as well as other examples. The well-written insurance and reimbursement chapter covers the material in an easy to read manner, and provides several easy to understand examples and case studies.
