When the word "incest" is heard, more often than not one surmises the perpetrator to be a male. However, this is not always the case. As four-year-old little Mary plays on the back piazza of her grandparents' home, her grandmother kisses her good-bye before leaving for the market and leaves her in the care of a live-in aunt. Mary's fragile life soon erupts into spasms of emotion and madness when an unexpected nap-time explodes into an incestuous attack. This attack turns diabolical and ritualistically continues over a period of two very long years: a blueprint for further horrendous atrocities when she is thrust into a seemingly insane world and emerges into womanhood. An inner voice tells her to seek the tattered threads of her lost life and confront her inner demons. Her courage and inner strength, however, prove to be no competition to what lies ahead.
