It is not easy to be brave, especially on a scary night like Halloween. Ten young friends, along with a mischievous cat and two not-so-fearless dogs, venture into a funhouse full of fright on Halloween. Armed with just a few flashlights, the characters try to brave the creepy surprises as the midnight bell tolls. As the clock strikes midnight, the friends start to see who will make it and who will not. "A vulture in a dead tree?" That does not seem too bad. However, howling werewolves might scare away a few friends. Smiling pumpkins might also cause a friend or two to run, but if that does not work, laughing and cackling witches will do the job! All the stars of Halloween turn out in this book that counts down from thirteen to one, landing at the scariest character of them all. Bright illustrations bring goblins that giggle and mummies that moan to life.
