In Europe’s Ghost, Michael Radu reveals that Europe’s identity crisis does not lie in past or present racism or in a variety of largely invented or anachronistic crimes, but in the self-inflicted renunciation of national traditions in favor of multiculturalism. In fact, most European elites see jihadism as nothing but a peculiar form of criminality, due to the social and economic problems inside Europe, rather than what it is: a peculiar form of warfare rooted in cultural developments imported from the Muslim world.

The truth, Radu offers, is that most Muslims in most European countries see themselves as visitors, rather than as citizens of Europe. Thus, the British media’s outcry over the phenomenon of British-born Muslim terrorists murdering “fellow Britons” is dangerously misplaced.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Europe's Ghost is the book I've been waiting for—a serious, in-depth analysis of the Muslim immigration crisis in Europe. Avoiding both hysteria and political correctness, this admirable, timely work combines impeccable scholarship with moral integrity and intellectual clarity. It's impossible to read this book without registering sober alarm, yet the quality of the author's thought also provides firm ground for confidence that, despite some recent battering, the West will remain the dominant human ideal. No culture that can produce and publish thinkers such as Michael Radu is going to fall to Islamist fanatics."
&mdash Ralph Peters, author of The War After Armageddon and Wars of Blood and Faith

“Michael Radu, with characteristic incisiveness, cuts through the mindless multicultural relativism of modern liberalism to demolish the illusions of well-meaning but ignorant appeasers of Islamic radicalism. The crux of his argument: tolerance of intolerant Muslims in Europe threatens the civil liberties and individual rights that European culture has so brilliantly advanced over centuries of struggle.”

&mdash Nils H. Wessell, former Director, Foreign Policy Research Institute

“Michael Radu has written a most interesting and comprehensive book about the important issues of Muslim immigration and Islamism in contemporary Europe. No matter what readers viewpoints might be they will learn an enormous amount.”

&mdash Barry Rubin, author of The Tragedy of the Middle East and Global Survey of Islamism

Top reviews from the United States

In my senior year of high school I did a research paper on contemporary and postwar Europe. Obviously, in looking at social patterns defining our current era immigration, particularly from the Islamic world, has figured largely in Europe. In researching this topic I found many of the books overly anecdotal, or otherwise they just seemed like the rantings of a far-right political activist. But, the breadth of Mr Radu's work is impressive, and he presents his extensive research in an encyclopedic manner. In an eerily detached way he has his detailed facts back up his arguments instead of simply using fiery rhetoric. Given how I am writing the first review on the book, it is clear that some of the less in-depth volumes on the subject, like The Last Days of Europe by Mr Laqueur, While Europe Slept by Mr Bawer, and Londonistan by Ms Phillips, have certainly received more attention; however, I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for a truly scholarly work on the current situation of the Muslim minorities in Europe that is written with as little inflation of the facts and blatant fear-mongering as possible (though much of his research certainly invites a quiet horror), then this is the book to get.

One of the best books I've read, period.
