A Life Worth Living: The Adventures of a Passionate Sportsman Paperback – January 1, 2004

4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 8 ratings

A memoir of a sportsman's life from the son of one of the twentieth century's greatest writers. Jack Hemingway, son of literary legend Ernest Hemingway and one of America's best-known outdoorsmen, has written an engrossing, warm and candid memoir of his life as an incorrigible sportsman. Balancing a self-effacing humor with a delicacy of prose both graceful and knowing, along with an introduction by Geoffrey Norman and a foreword contributed by Angela Hemingway, A Life Worth Living is a touching, passionate memoir of a lifetime spent practicing the sport he loved so much.

Review

"Jack Hemingway had as direct connection with the natural world as any writer who ever lived - including his father. Fishing and hunting and the good life itself live on his pages."
--Terry McDonell, Managing Editor/Sports Illustrated

"Having a world-famous parent known as much for his hairy-chested credo as his craft could only have been daunting, but Jack seems very much his own man who approached life with zeal, humor and a quiet grace, all of which shines through in his candid, unpretentious recollections. "Hemingway" and "fishing" are synonymous, and Jack does the name proud; A Life Worth Living is well worth reading! Fly fishing enthusiasts and Hemingway aficionados will want this book. Highly recommended."--
