I grew up with the KJV. I downloaded some other Bibles because I was writing a religion paper. One was the English Standard Version, which I'd never even heard of before. It just doesn't sound like the Word of God in today's English.
Now, to the recurring complaint of not knowing the book you are in and problems searching...
I started to get frustrated at first with not knowing what book I was in. That was until I found an interactive table of contents (best way I can describe it) just a swipe away on the left hand side of my screen. When you opened this scrolling, collapsible TOC, it was at the book and chapter you were in and the square with the chapter number on it was lighter than the rest. Confused yet by what I am sure is a bad description?
If you were to collapse all of the books, at the top of this TOC was a link for Old Testament and New Testament. Or you could scroll down and the was the titles of all the books, in order, of course. When you get too the book you want, you can click on it and it expands to list all of the chapters. The chapters don't expand but the link takes you right to the b beginning of the chapter. You could use one of the two TOCs at the beginning. One is just the book names that link to that book. The other TOC has chapter numbers as well as book name.
Another nice thing is that all the verses start on a new line so you don't have to try to decipher where one verse ended and the next began.
I haven't opened this version in one of my older Kindle, but there has got to be a way to get to this TOC on a non-touch Kindle.
Anyway, I found this to be the best KJV for Kindle. I found it very easy to scroll through the TOC on the side and jump from book to book.

This is the BIBLE to own & pass down to your children... however, you need to read this to know what to look out for!!
The item I was sent for this specific listing was not what was described and was a poor attempt to pass off as the original... however, I happen to already have the "original version" (that I came across at a thrift store for $1.50)... so I know what it is supposed to look like... and THAT version is 5+ stars!I am attaching comparisons of the version I was sent (a REGENCY Bible, but published by ROYAL PUBLISHERS), versus what I already own (and was hoping to get a 2nd copy of), so you know what to look for & expect..The version I own & recommend is also a REGENCY Bible, but the publisher is NELSON ... and that makes all the difference in the world!! Both Bibles are King James Versions & Red Letter Reference Editions, and judging just from the info on the covers, you would think they would be identical in content. You know what they say, though... don't judge a book by its cover (lame, I know... but so true for this!!!)If you get the correct one, this Bible is truly an amazing book and something to keep in the family as an heirloom. I am still looking for a 2nd NELSON Regency Bible (to give as a gift to my mom... because I cant bring myself to part with the one I found at the thrift store!!).FYI... Its a big, hardback bible... maybe 9"x 13" and at about 3-4" thick.What to look for/ expect:1. (1st pic) the version I recommend is actually the less attractive one, on the left side of the picture. Its more beige, instead of white color cover. Both Bibles have gold leaf pages & both say they are REGENCY Bibles/ King James Version/ Old & New Testament/ Red Letter Edition. IT GETS CONFUSING BUT THE BIBLE I BOUGHT FROM AMAZON (WITH NO IMAGE OF CHRIST ON THE OUTSIDE COVER), IS ACTUALLY THE BIBLE THAT SAYS "NELSON" ON THE SPINE. HOWEVER, WHEN I REFERENCE THE BETTER OF THE TWO BIBLES, MY RECOMMENDATION IS IN FAVOR OF THE "THOMAS NELSON PUBLISHERS, NASHVILLE TN"... (which only says "Regency" on the spine).2. (2nd pic) example of multiple, photo finish (gloss print) pages that are in the NELSON Version3. (3rd pic) shows Publisher information & detailed comparison between NELSON (gold/ beige accents) & ROYAL (blue accents) Versions.4. (4th pic) shows comparison between NELSON (left) & ROYAL (right/ top) Versions. Notice the ROYAL Version/s image is not centered OR straight on the page. It looks like it was made quickly from a color copier and then the pictures were added, after the fact, to the Bible.5. (5th pic) sample images only in NELSON Version.6. (6th picture) example of ROYAL large image. If you look at where the page is to the spine, it looks as if the pages were printed on very large paper, folded in half and then glued to the book, after the fact.7. (7th pic) "Historic Christian Figures" reference list, only in NELSON Version.8. (8th pic) "Subject Index", only in NELSON Version and incredibly useful. Its great to be able to search for passages about "love" or "loss" or any word/ topic.9. (9th pic) example of how words/ terms are defined in detail, some with imagery, at the back of the Bible.The ROYAL Version had OVER half of the color images missing from it, and the ones it did have were clearly not part of the original binding. The images are not as vivid or glossy, but the worst part is that a lot them are crooked on the page (like a bad color copy duplicate that had a small paper jam problem).
