DAVID KUPELIAN'S CULTURE-WAR BESTSELLER IS NOW AVAILABLE IN PAPERBACK!

Millions of Americans today accept ideas and behaviors that would have horrified all previous generations. Why?

Why have thousands of years of Judeo-Christian moral standards suddenly been abandoned? What's behind today's divorce epidemic? Why is public prayer being criminalized? Why are 3,000 innocent unborn children aborted daily? In this widely acclaimed exposé, veteran journalist David Kupelian reveals the brilliant marketing strategies that have turned America upside down.

"Within the space of our lifetime, much of what Americans once almost universally abhorred has been packaged, perfumed, gift-wrapped, and sold to us as though it had great value. By skillfully playing on our deeply felt national values of fairness, generosity, and tolerance, these marketers have persuaded us to embrace as enlightened and noble that which every other generation has regarded as grossly self-destructive―in a word, evil.”

Review

David Kupelian is one of the most thought-provoking and iconoclastic writers I know. Agree or disagree, David is a must-read if you really want to understand the world we live in and where it s headed. --SEAN HANNITY, top-rated radio and television host and author

Excellent. Simply excellent. If you want to solidify your Christian worldview or just understand what the culture war is all about you owe it to yourself to read David Kupelian s The Marketing of Evil. --DONALD E. WILDMON, chairman and founder of the American Family Association

One of the best books I ve read in a long time on what s really going on and what we can do about it. --GARY DEMAR, president of American Vision and author of over twenty books, including the three-volume God and Government

From the Inside Flap

In this groundbreaking and meticulously researched book, David Kupelian peels back the veil of marketing-induced deception to reveal exactly when, where, how and especially why Americans bought into the lies that now threaten the future of the country. For example, few of us realize that the widely revered father of the "sexual revolution" has been irrefutably exposed as a full-fledged sexual psychopath who encouraged pedophilia. Or that giant corporations voraciously competing for America's $150 billion teen market routinely infiltrate young people's social groups to find out how better to lead children into ever more debauched forms of "authentic self-expression."Likewise, most of us mistakenly believe the abortion rights and gay rights movements were spontaneous, grassroots uprisings of neglected or persecuted minorities wanting to breathe free. Few people realize America was actually sold on abortion thanks to an audacious public relations campaign that relied on fantastic lies and fabrications. Or that the gay rights movement?which transformed America's former view of homosexuals as self-destructive human beings into their current status as victims and cultural heroes?faithfully followed an in-depth, phased plan laid out by professional Harvard-trained marketers. No quarter is given in this riveting, insightful exploration of how lies, both subtle and outrageous, are packaged as truth. From the federal government to the public school system to the news media to the hidden creators of "youth culture," nothing is exempt from the thousand-watt spotlight of Kupelian's journalistic inquiry.

Many books have chronicled the downward spiral of Western culture. This book explains the hows and whys of this decline. It is about how evil is "packaged and perfumed to look good - and good made to appear evil".

The decline, in other words, is not just happening by chance. It is being planned, orchestrated and coordinated by vested interests. There is money to be made in evil. And many groups are getting involved in the marketing of evil, in the attempt to get rich quick.

But it is not just about money. There is also ideology. There are many who simply hate the West, who hate morality, who hate God, who hate the family. And they are doing all they can to subvert the West and recreate it in their own mage.

Kupelian documents these nefarious trends, and shows us why evil seems to be making advances throughout the Western world. He makes it clear that with such activist marketing of evil taking place, a much stronger response is required than is presently being offered.

Now those who are familiar with the culture wars will not find too much new material here, as much of it has been presented elsewhere. But the angle which the author takes is well worth considering. That is, there is an agenda being pushed, and there are those actively working to foist their tarnished vision of society on the rest of us.

It is this emphasis that makes this book compelling reading. We need to know who is targeting us and why. And Kupelian does a good job of identifying and analyzing the many assaults on faith and family.

Consider one chapter, on the youth culture. We do not just have millions of young people who seem to have all descended upon common clothing, entertainment, and consumer culture. They have been carefully studied, marketed to and manipulated by vast entertainment conglomerations. These international corporations are making multi-millions by actively targeting our young people, creating in them a demand for their products.

Take just one small example. Are we really to believe that overnight millions of teens decided they wanted to mutilate their flesh with body piercing? Hardly. Kids are being sold the idea that such things are cool, and they need to have the `look'. They are being programmed - duped into thinking - that they must go to such extremes to be with it. And big bucks are being made along the way.

Peer pressure has always had an enormous influence on young people, but when the pressure is effectively created and manipulated by multinational corporations lining their pockets, then the pressure becomes a form of brainwashing. And millions of our kids today are little more than walking, talking zombies, slavishly following the latest trends and fashions created by these big firms.

Other meaty chapters in this book deal with the media, the abortion industry, the sexualization of our young people, the assault on marriage, and the secularist attempt to de-Christianize America.

While the topics discussed here are in the context of the US, they are of relevance to the West in general. There is a war going on, and the marketers of evil seems to be making big inroads. Being aware of their strategy and tactics is an important part of how we can resist these attacks. Thus this book provides valuable information on how we can turn things around.

And as Kupelian reminds us, every transaction has two parties: a buyer and a seller. While this book mainly focuses on the sellers and advertisers of evil, he reminds us that too many of us have been willing buyers of these transactions, or have been complicit bystanders.

The marketing of evil has been a monumental con job, but too many of us have been too easily taken in by the lure and promise of the marketers. We have become bewitched by the spells and persuasion of the marketers, and have done too little to immunize our children from the lure of evil.

This book will go a long way to snapping us out of our trances, and getting us to think more seriously about how we are being manipulated, molded and seduced by various vested interest groups.

My pastor says that when a person is told the truth, many times the first reaction is anger. Later on the recipient must come to terms with reality, or retreat back into their false make-believe world. Reviewers who spew their venom at David Kupelian for exposing their faulty worldview can only do so because they cannot refute the facts so eloquently laid out in this book.

As an American you have a right to believe anything you want. But at some point you must realize that this is and has been such a great country, which probably over half of the world desires to live in, because our system is based on a large part on Judeo-Christian principles. What a shame that so many are trying to take this all away and make us a nation of atheists or some other form of ignorance.

I have studied for many years how the Nazi propadandist Joseph Goebbels was able to get people to believe so many lies. He found that he could get people to believe most anything if he hammered away at them long enough. Just like in this country, where the homosexual and pro-abortion agenda has inundated our country with lifestyles and practices resulting in a culture of death.

Enter David Kupelian. Someone who understands false scientific studies based on corrupted samples and invalid statistical methods. Someone who recognized made-up numbers. (We always called them "air" numbers because they were plucked out of the air.) Someone who understands the multi-billion dollar advertising industry in America and how their methods to sell us soap and automobiles can be used to sell us lies in the name of science. Someone who recognizes evil propaganda for what it is.

I had always pretty much held the same views as the author. What makes this book so compelling is just how he has done his homework and how eloquently he explains his premises. Most of what is said in this book, I could not have said nearly as well.

If you are a died-in-the-wool liberal who thinks you are for freedom and liberty, while supporting the right of a mother to pay a doctor to dismember or burn up her baby, then flush the baby down the garbage disposal, and you will never give up, then perhaps you should just skip this book. However, if you are a seeker of truth who is willing to question your own views on life and where they came from, no matter where you are at on the political spectrum, then I highly recommend this book. If you are a born-again Christian, this is a must read, so that you can make sure you have not become a proponent of something evil just because it was sold to you in a very slick manner. Or that you have not had your worldview secularized to the point of ineffectiveness.

I had to look at my own life, and with the help of the author, examine myself to see where perhaps I have compromised with certain aspects of a secular worldview that is against God and His true believers.

It takes guts and intelligence and hard work and research to write such a book as this. I am glad to have read it.

I literally couldn't stop laughing, this book is just page after page of credulous nonsense, scaremongering and outright fabrication. Highlights include the way the author uses the very same techniques he 'exposes' to convince you of his own half-baked ideas, the 'gratuitous' use of 'quote marks' throughout, and the way the entire book rests upon the premise that certain ways of life are evil with no real exploration of why other than "because they are different to mine".

The section on Alfred Kinsey, I think, is my personal favourite, as it relies almost exclusively on Dr Judith Reisman's allegations against Kinsey of mass fraud and active involvement in paedophilia, despite these having been thrown out of court with prejudice (a fact the author could not fail to have known if he simply wikipedia'd the people involved), as well as ascertaining that the reports opened up an era of sexual licentiousness, despite the whole point being the way they documented the double standard at the time between what people did in the bedroom and what was 'proper'.

In the words of seemingly every other reviewer: a real eye opener :D

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent !!!

This book provides a look into the lives of individuals who developed the critical mass necessary in the North American public to accept abortion on demand. It shows how some of them turned from this direction to attempt to undo their influence. However, the movement had developed its own energy and the horse was out of the barn so to speak.

Then it turned to a more general consideration of the marketing of bad ideas. Immorality. And superficial Christianity.

The earlier part of the book was a history that I had always suspected. The conclusion had some very thought provoking statements.

Thank you. Well done. We need more of these thought provoking and revealing treatises.

A insightful book regardless of how one stands on the particular issues covered in the book.
The author, Kupelian shows a clear understanding of the STEP by STEP tactics and strategy of marketing & lobbying, the initial manufacturing of 'campaigns for change' and the fabricating of memes. Deconstructing the cultural psy- on the general public- the precision employed by political movements and pressure groups as they embark on their projects to acclimatise the general public - particularly where social mores and awareness are concerned - which have divided and made our society more fragile as communities often more violent and/or apathetic, so as to engineer social changes in general, often not wanted or supported or understood by the general public.
