I carry this one to church, etc. The regular size print is a little hard for me to see, but the Large print Bible is heavy for me to carry. It is an excellent translation and it is easier to understand the KJV. Excellent!

I chose this bible because I wanted one that would be easy to tote to Bible Studies and Prayer Meetings. It fits the bill in those areas very nicely. Looks nice, too. The type is small and the pages so thin, that it's difficult to read. You can see the type on the back of the page which interferes with the ability to read quickly. But I think you would encounter that in any thin bible. I am happy I bought it. And DEFINITELY happy I bought it from Amazon. Free Shipping and a good return policy. Also received it in a good period of time.

Even though the print is small, it does live up to being slim and an easy carry Bible. I like it.

I ordered this Bible, and when it arrived the cover was UPSIDE DOWN! It is a beautiful Bible, I just hope that they send me a new one that is in the right condition!

I greatly dislike small type and poor paper quality. So at first, I really thought I wouldn't like the ESV thinline. However, now I've owned mine since 2004 and it's still a great Bible. The thinline version is the PERFECT size, of any Bible I have owned. There isn't so much "ghosting" on the thin pages that it makes the text difficult to read. You can hold this Bible with one hand, and do something else, and you can slip it into your purse (or briefcase) without a whole lot of space being taken up. But, on the other hand, when you are reading it, it doesn't feel like a compact BIble. You don't have to squint your eyes and follow with your finger to keep your place, as in some Bibles with size 8 font. This font is closer to a 9.5 or so. There are just enough maps and concordance in the back to be useful, for most situations. And as far as the translation itself, it is superior to every other translation I have used with EXCEPTION of the NET Bible. The NET Bible is put out by the guys at [...] and it is an amazing translation. In fact, one of the main translators who worked on the ESV, said that they used the NET Bible as a reference for difficult passages. The NET Bible has a nice compact edition (8 pt. font - way to small for me) and also a reader's edition with 11pt. font- a bit impractical to carry all around. If you want an amazing translation that everyone is using and a great thinline Bible, get one of the ESV thinlines. If you want to understand the Bible a bit better and don't mind a smaller version, try the NET Bible compact edition.

This Bible has served me well for several years. I love the ESV translation. The cover & binding are not the highest quality, so it won't stand up to a lot of abuse.

I bought this Bible because it had all of the basic features I wanted, in a compact, easily carried Bible. It's description is accurate and so if you read it and like it, get it.

The only thing is that the concordance isn't very thorough compared to my old Bible, but I guess that's what a non-reference Bible has.

4.0 out of 5 stars A light weight Bible to carry around - great for use in the pulpit as well as Bible study

This is a great copy for pulpit/preaching use. It accompanies similar slimline/thinline copies of the King James Version (KJV) and New International Version (NIV) that I have used in pulpit for some years. The cover is sturdy and will last long. The red-letter sections are just right in colour and the maps and concordance are very useful. If you need a Bible that is for light study or pulpit use, this is a great buy. (I have these different translations due to the requirements of the different churches I pulpit-supply for.)
(NOTE: I don't see the "ink bleed" problems mentioned in an older review. I just purchased this, December 2014, so maybe the publishers finally addressed that problem. Of course, it IS "Bible paper" - thin - so there is a slight image of the next page, but it is not distracting.)
