John A. Kinsfather
Beginning on page 33 are pictures of flies and nymphs and streamers. These are all standard western flies. No exotics here, just the real flies that are dependable every day on the water. Each fly picture has it's own little tale: page 33, "Elk Hair Caddis, 'One of...if not the best'"; page 41, "Woolly Bugger, '...the best fish-producing streamer for rivers ever!'" From Adams to Hares Ears to Zug Bugs, they are all here.
He is a bit redundant in the fly pictures but it doesn't hurt the content of the book. I would give this book to anyone new to flyfishing, husband or wife or both, any child or grandchild who is new to the game. It's good, easily understood and if you follow his directions, buy a balanced rod and line and reel and use these flies you will catch fish! I certainly enjoy Banasch's fresh, easily-read approach. This book will make a great gift to someone you want see succeed at the sport
